SEPTEMBER DAWN: Terence Stamp as Brigham Young

Blood oaths...Mormons swear those today in Mormon temples around the world.

  1. I'm confused. I thought that blood oaths had been taken out of the endowment several years ago. It's still clearly full of lies, but my understanding was that this was one of the things (along with the sign of disemboweling oneself) that was taken out several years ago to keep more members in the Church because it was upsetting people.

  2. drew t...sorry you are confused. You are correct that changes have been made through the years. The last one was done in 1990, the drawing the thumb across the throat was upsetting some going to the Mormon temples and as per common to Mormonism take a poll and change something... Go to our webpage: www.nauvoochristian.org
Click on Resources and read all the temple endowments and you will see the the god of Mormonism changes his mind.

  3. Yes, I've certainly observed this myself. One thing that struck me the strongest recently was how it is that the Mormon god requires polygamy for eternal salvation (after all, it's right there in their scriptures), but then whoever practices it is excommunicated from his church? How interesting that the organization he established for the purpose of bringing salvation to all is now denying that salvation to people in an effort to make the government happy.
